Fuel pickup for a D2 heater... How to?

Anyone add a espar airtronics heater to a ford e350? Mines a 2000 7.3l E350 and just wondering what the process looks like of being able to pull fuel from the tank. I know Sprinters have a tap pre installed, can't really see one when I climb around under the van looking.

Beta?

There are 3 lines on top of the tank at the pickup. One will have a plastic cap on it, the other two will have hoses. The capped line is the aux pickup.

Gotta remember this tidbit...I'm thinking of a fuel-powered APU more than a heater, but it's a toss as to who's gonna win out. Looking at maybe moving to Maine in a couple years...so I think the heater may be the better choice, unless I can run a second auxiliary line?

There were only 2 lines on my 1996 PSD E350:

My 2002 E350 didn't have an aux pickup so I did the same thing as the previous post. Drilled a hole through that stainless steel flange with a drill press and fitted the webasto pickup tube kit.

Stock E350 has a 35 gallon tank, why would anyone want a separate tank/cell? (Unless gasoline vehicle )

The D4 I have does not require a return line.

Sorry, not trying to thread jack, but I've made multiple threads about these systems on multiple forums including this one; and this is the most response I've ever seen so I wanna ask. Some people might have similar questions. If you have the Airtronic d2 and the hydronic d5 can you tap them off of the single aux port on the fuel pickup? I don't see anything in the manuals about that specifically. Anyone know exactly how far down the pickup goes? Is a sump and extended pickup really that necessary for the 1/4 tank issue??

The D4's instructions said one inch from the bottom of a flat tank.
Not sure if this helps.

If you look in the ambo faq I think the photo is right in the begining. Or even the first post?

In any case the aux goes 3/4 of the way down. Mine snapped off while I was working on it so I just ran the tiny fuel line down into the tank. There would have been room for another. I'd say run 2 lines into the tank and call it a day.
