As an update to my code reader post here are some learnings that may help others.
1 goodsams tow service is worthwhile.
2 if you have to replace your fuel pump be sure to torque the nipples
I had a slow diesel leak. No codes. Just a leak. Shop replaced the fuel pump. Then I had a bigger leak. This time from around the injectors. Not from the side (where the fuel pump is). Shop pulled the injectors and reseated them. Still leaked. Tighten all the fuel lines. Still leaked. Then on the way to the shop the truck threw a bunch of codes. The final code stopped the engine with a major fuel leak. Ended up on a landau flat bed and got to the shop. (After I sent pictures to good sams proving the fuso was a camper not a commercial

once at the shop the problem was fixed. Here is the issue. When you remove the fuel pump you remove the fuel lines. The injectors have a nipple that is threaded into them upon which the fuel line attached to. It’s like a double ended pipe
With threads on both ends. When you remove the fuel lines it’s incredibly likely you will slightly loosen the nipple where it threads into the injector If you don’t torque these properly. (Which really means removing the injectors clamping them in a vise with soft jaws. ) Then what happens is the vibration from the engine combined with 27000 psi fuel pressure will loosen the nipple at the injector. When you reinstall the injectors be sure to put new o rings and a new aluminum washer. Once this is done it won’t leak.
many standard code reader will read theOBD codes. The description will be wrong but the fuso service manual can be referenced to find the right code description and the procedure to address it. Any cheap code reader will reset codes much faster than the fuso shop version.
