Decided to go on a last-minute solo camping adventure yesterday, and remembered to grab the tripod! Heres some photos, with brief captions:

Not a particularly great photo, but it captures the drama of lighting a MSR Simmerlite stove well! :campfire:

Probably my favorite self-portrait in a while, although somewhat dramatic

This one is cool, too: I was playing with exposure times. This was (I think) 15 seconds.

Theres actually a funny story to this. Not intended to be another dramatic self-portrait, but right before the shutter clicked there was a pair of deer walking about 50 yards away that caught my attention!

Shots done with a plain-jane Nikon D40 with broken (no auto focus!) standard 18-55mm lens.

you should crank up the ISO next time, and change your white balance to incadescent 0 or +1, and it'll get rid of a lot of that orange glow. the ramen picture is exposed nicely.

Thanks. The orange glow is actually somewhat accurate- it was not a dark or clear night and there is a lot of ambient light glow within the area. I will try your suggestions next time though and see what happens!
