Servicing my front hubs today, the driver side one was fine but had an issue with the passenger side.
I saw wear on the inboard side of the driven gear, consistent with missed/partial engagement.
There was enough wear to prevent the driven gear from smoothly sliding over the drive shaft spine. My solution was to take the driven gear off, smooth things out with a dremel, and then slide it back on flipped with the outboard side now inboard.
Anyone experience this issue and know any tricks to prevent it from recurring? I had this hub completely off last year so I'm assuming I did something incorrect then. It looks like it is working fine now, but of course it looked that was last time too...
