Took the 2004 Fuso FG Expo Rig down to the Tetons on Friday. Teton Pass linking Wilson WY to Victor ID has many sections that are 10% grade. We were able to maintain 25 mph on the uphill in 3rd gear & 3000 RPM and 25 mph on the downhill in 3rd gear with the engine brake. Going to 4th on the uphill was impossible and on the downhill 4th gear produced speeds in excess of 40 mph which is too fast for a vehicle of this size/weight.
There is not much snow in the Tetons and the roads were dry all the way there and back. Sure hope we get some heavy Spring snow in the Northern Rockies.
