I just completed the installation of an Eberspacher Cooltronic Back truck parking cooler on my FWC Hawk Flatbed. This is a 24v unit that is rated for 3200 BTU. The price is fair when compared to other available options. I already had a hybrid 24v/12v electric system installed in the camper. It's easy to add a 12v to 24v boost convertor to a 12v system. I also have the thermal pack installed in our rig. I have been using the air conditioner in 100 degree temps and it works very well, dropping the interior temp by about 20 degrees within an hour. It does an excellent job of moisture removal. It is more than adequate and allows us to sleep in hot and humid conditions. I realize that many will want to argue that the BTU output is inadequate but I guess it just depends on what you want to do with your rig. We tend to spend our time outside of the camper unless sleeping or during bad weather. This unit only draws 348 watts on "Turbo" mode or 180 watts on normal. My only complaint is that it has a timer that you cannot (so far) override. It shuts off automatically after 4 hours on turbo or 6 hours on regular. This was designed to keep truckers from draining their batteries whereas I have sufficient capacity to run mine longer. The Secop (Danfoss) compressor is very quiet and durable. The evaporator fits nicely above the galley. The installation was simple with the provided parts. I vacuumed and charged it myself with R134a. The process was straightforward. Here is a link to a video of the finished installation. Just wanted to share for other FWC owners interested in installing AC.
