FWC Hawk shell battery charger

I’m picking up a Hawk shell with lithium upgrade & solar; I want to be able to plug this in to keep the battery topped off when it’s sitting in my garage. I’ve arranged to have the dealer I’m purchasing from install a NOCO input port and I planned to install the Victron IP67 battery charger; how big of job is this? Does anyone know if I need to install this in a different compartment than the battery? I’ve read about keeping the charger as far away from battery as possible.

Honestly I wouldn’t worry about it unless it’s going to be inside for an extended period of time, six months or more. Lithium is not like lead acid in that way. I’m assuming there is a shut off near the battery to prevent something drawing it down.

Maybe just check the voltage every couple weeks to be sure. If you think you might need to charge from the grid occasionally while you’re out traveling, then going the victron route might be worth it. Otherwise there are cheaper trickle charge options for storage.

I use one of these to charge batteries for other projects around the shop.

DROK 24V Power Supply, AC 110V/220V to DC 0-24V 20A 480W Buck Converter, Variable Adjustable Adapter Regulated 5V 12V 24V Volt Switching Voltage LED Transformer 20A Amp Charger for Computer Lab https://a.co/d/bVjJVGY

You’ll need an IEC cord (old PC cord) and a couple 12 gauge leads with your choice of alligator clips or the like.
