G Wagen ride height

Hi fellas, I have always love the G and when i did a stint in Haiti, there were quite a few of them on the road. The thing that i loved about (the V8) was the power and the sound of the engine. The other was the ride height. I used to be a regular passenger on a 100 series LC and the thing that stood out for me was the ride height of the Gs passing by. The seating position seemed much higher in the G than the LC. What is the seat height on one of these babies?

I dont know if it is the seat height or the tall windows. I think its similar to Land Rovers, that you sit high and have tall windows. It really does give you a good feeling and commanding view. And welcome!

Yes ScottReb, it really seems to be similar to a Defender in that respect. Any specs on the height. I remember the old Four Wheeler magazines used to carry the seat height as a spec in the Four Wheeler of the Year vehicles. Would be interesting.

I can measure ground to driver's seat bottom if you'd like. My G is lifted about 1" from factory (OEM Red3/Brown2 springs on Koni HT Raid's, 33" BFG AT's on Hutchinson DOT-approved beadlocks), not sure if that lift is ok with you.

Ground to the median of driver's side seat bottom surface is 38". Of course you can change this by how high the seat is raised or lowered(mine is pretty much in the middle).

Thanks. It is as tall as i thought. Probably close to a Superduty ride height.
