Garmin TOPO 2008 for Mac is here

Installed it last night - LOOKS AWESOME on the 60CSx! Even has hiking trails displayed. There is obviously more data in this edition - my 1 GIG micro SD card held only 75% as much area compared to the old TOPO.

On my way now to test one of those hiking trails!

I have heard that the TOPO map is missing back country roads that the normal street maps have. Is this true?

I find just the opposite. Topo has many back country roads not shown on City Navigator. But for even more detailed Garmin compatible maps on a Mac visit here, http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/. The topos they have are amazing with full 40 foot contour intervals. I don't really even use the Garmin Topo any more after finding these.

Okay bro, now that you've had this a while . . . what's your impression now?

Thanks!

Mark

Dude - sorry - I just saw this thread had additions!

I am very please with the '08 software. For my humble needs I could not imagine anything better actually. Sure there might be more information, but really, sometimes a little less is best. This setup allows me to anticipate terrain before I get to it, and easily navigate around.
