Gen 2.5 trailer wiring harness

So I've been looking for a plug and play option like I've had on other vehicles and can't find one, I've searched and all I'm able to find is the version that you have to splice into the brake lights and although I'm confident enough to do it, I rather have the plug in and play version. Anyone know where I can find such thing for the Montero?

But is supposed to be for the Gen 3, I'm almost willing to buy it and make it work if need to be.

You could make your own if you can find a Montero in a junkyard, that way you wouldn’t need to cut into your trucks harness.

The problem is I have yet to see one Montero at the junkyards around me, I have not looked in a while but I never found one.

I couldn't pull it up, must have deleted it after I bought one on here, if I recall though it was around $148.

So I bought the 3rd Gen harness and nope, is not a direct fit, so one of these days I'll splice it in place. Oh well worth a shot as it was priced around the same as the other harnesses.

Montero Sport might be the same, worth checking on. I think other harness connectors from similar year Sports are the same.

I'll try and check that, I ended up going to a junk yard and got the connectors from a Gen 3, and was planning on re-pinning the connectors to my Gen 2.5. they only had one sport and one Gen 3 where I went, I didn't really check the sport after seeing it wasn't 4x4.

I've decided I will go to another junkyard to look for a Gen 2/2.5 and get those plugs if possible, don't know when but I need to do it soon.
