Going the distance with LT suspension.

Curious if anyone has put some real miles on a long travel front end, 4wd or 2wd? About to start the suspension on my 2001 Tacoma reg cab 4wd, Total Chaos long travel w/ the extended tundra axles, King coilovers and aux. king
smoothies. Deaver springs in the rear and king smoothies.

Thanks for the info guys.

On my Tacoma I had just about every type of coilover and then eventually went to Total Chaos long travel running dual fox shocks up front. Put "only" about 60k with the long travel on it, but in those days it was some rough miles prerunning race courses in Mexico and Nevada.
It worked great. I loved in a lot of situations. Never any quality or issues over time.
I would recommend getting delrin instead of the poly bushings. They will keep the front end taught and will last longer.
Make sure you have the alignment cams good and tight. I learned that one the hard way on a freeway once.

Otherwise have at it!
For an offroad truck it's great. For a daily driver it got old. Too much leaning etc which could have been helped with a higher lb/inch coil. In the end it was just too much hassle to try and find two clean lines since the tires were offset 7 inches total. I would consider doing a t100 or early tundra swap on the rear axle so each tire follows the same track with. Okay, sorry, getting off topic. :smiley_drive:

Absolutely. Nicole at TC will not bull sh@t you about what you need to do to set it up right. Forget all of the bling and just invest in the correct mods and someday you may own a classic long travel tacoma that has seen many miles of abuse and countryside! :victory:
