C&T & extended the beams yourself? Very cool. I bet that thing eats the rough right up. How far did you push the lower ball joint hole out?
I'm currently running extended radius arms, pivot drop brackets, 2x12" shocks, and while it works well, have been thinking I ought to snag a set of beams from a yard to do up like you've done and make the leap to coilovers.
Is the rear trussed? Stock width? Running 37's?
I really like the steering, another area my rig could use improvements. Thanks for sharing.
Edited to add: I bet you're thinking cage & harness with how capable that thing is with speed!
I would highly recommend some cut and turned beams, much better for going fast. I'd only go coilovers if you have reached the limits of your shocks. Amazing what these do with some coils, radius arms and tuned shocks.
I had a set of Cut and Turn beams from autofab that I started from, but it's a really simple project, nothing I would shy away from. I cut them, added 4.5" per side and plated them. Chromoly axles.
Rear is trussed stock axle for now (I'm about to start on an axle build before I do any serious smashing) Yes 37" BFG Projects
Thanks, the steering was fun to engineer. I would only do single swing on a truck like yours, pretty easy project.
I'm avoiding a cage for now, the build was intended to be an adventure build that goes fast... Cage and harness would come with turbo LS swap...Still debating lol
Cheers!
