Gutter Solar lights as rack mounted lamps?

I just saw these solar powered.lights that are gutter mounted. I was.thinking that these would be easy to adapt to a roof rack as external lighting. Has anyone tried these? They look really cheap so I would think they would not survive the vibration or dust.

They might work around camp, but I can't imagine them being left on during driving. They look like limb grabbers, and most things designed for static usage around a house will quickly fail when subjected to vibrations, bumps and knocks they will encounter off road.
