HAM Communications For EXPO

Were going to be in the Prescott area camping a couple days early for the Overland Expo. I see one 2 Meter HAM repeater listing for that area and was wondering what the local overland operators are using on 2 Meter. Maybe they have a set frequency that's best for simplex. If anyone has an idea, please post it.

I can't speak for Roseann who is planning everything but...
Like you said there is only the 1 2m repeater listed so make sure to listen to that..
Otherwise the simplex most of us here use is 146.460...so you really want to listen there.

I hope to see some of our Prescott friends post up any other repeaters or comm simplex #'s they are on.

Locally I use the 147.000, 147.220, 146.880, repeaters and for the surrounding area I use the ARA Rim Link (Mt. Elden in Flagstaff covers the Verde Valley and Prescott, Mt. Ord between Phx and Payson, Pinal Peak covers the eastern desert, and Green Peak near Springerville covers I-40 and parts of the White Mts.)

...Lists the Rim Link freq as well as the other ARA repeaters. The CalZona Link operates between Smith Peak near Aguila, AZ., and covers from the Cali border to Phx, and Monument Peak east of San Diego covers the western desert of Cali. I've used the CalZona link with very good success on I-10 from almost Yuma to the top of Yarnell Hill on Hyw 89 to Prescott.

Bill Williams Mt. has a very good repeater as well. 146.780, PL of 91.5 - it covers Prescott, Flagstaff, west on I-40 to well past Seligman, and north to the Grand Canyon.
