HDJ-80 “Arctic Truck” for sale.

I have a HDJ80 series “Arctic Truck” with a intercooled 1-hdt diesel engine and automatic transmission for sale.

It is a 1990 but was rebuilt and painted early 2010 and the engine was rebuild earlier this year.
The truck is located in Iceland and I´m planning on selling it because I´m moving away for a few years.

Some of you here might know my rig from looking at threads about it on the Ih8mud.com forum.

I have taken good care of it the 5 years I have owned it. I have replaced a lot of parts such as:
All brake disks and rebuilt the front calibers.
All suspension bushings
Compleatly rebuilt the front axle (all bearings and spindles)
Replaced rear wheel bearings (it´s got a full floating rear axle)
Retrofitted E-lockers

In 2010 I had the body repainted as seen in a link to a thread above.
Then I installed brand new “arctic truck” style fender flares.
Built brand new running boards and had them powder coated.
Installed 4 new speakers and a 12” subwoofer in the back (the amp is broken but all the wires and the sub are in place).
Had a new 3" exhaust system installed.

Earlyer this year I had a mishap when crossing a river and flooded the engine. After that I did a full engine rebuilt. Replaced all bearings, all six pistons and had the engine block rebored. Replaced all seals and gaskets. Installed new head bolts, time belt and tensioner, had the head rebuilt and the exhaust valves replaced.
Then I made a fiberglass snorkel as seen in one of the threads.

The rig will be sold on 37” goodyears on 12,5” wide powder coated alloy rims. The tires are a bit worn.

It has air spring suspension in the back, the pressure is controlled from the drivers seat.

List of aux equipment:
Hella 3000 driving beam lighs with HID light kit.
HID kits installed in both high and low beams.
Bosch spotlights fitted inside the front bumper.
Aux electric system with third battery installed under the hood.
Daylight running system.
Alpine head unit with a Ipod connector in the clove compartment.
6x9” alpine speakers in a fiberglass box in the rear doors
13 cm alpine speakers in a fiberglass pods in the front doors.
12” sub in a MDF box in the back (no amp but the wirings are in place)
Led interior lights.
A storage compartment under the floor in the back.
Home made center console.
Home made roof rack with working lights (turned on with a switch or with the backup lights)
Home made swing out bike rack for two bikes.
OBA system with a belt driven York compressor and a air tank.
Icom Ham radio with a antenna on the top.

The only thing seen on the pics in the threds I will remove from the rig before I sell it is the Webasto heater.

I´m deffinetly forgetting something so feel free to ask anything about the rig if you are interested.

The price I´m asking for it is 21.500 USD. Shipping cost from Iceland to USA is close to 2000 USD.

So if anyone is interested and have any quiestions please feel free to ask anything directly via e-mail to haffijons@gmail.com

I will be located in Norway until the 1. of november so I cant shoot any new pics or ship the rig until then. But If you look at my statistics on the ih8mud forum you can find a few more threads I have started or commented in with some pics and facts about the Cruiser.

Here is a link to a ad on the ih8mud forum

Best regards,
Haffi

Very nice rig. I've been following your updates on ih8mud.

1990 is not eligible for import into the US until 2015, however in Canada it is currently legal to import for you Canucks up in Northern Canada. :safari-rig:

Bummer about not being able to import this to the U.S. Might almost be worth considering moving to Canada!

Interesting to me that everyone runs really wide tires in the snow up there. Everyone here runs skinny snow tires in the snow.

Hmm, so you could buy it and keep it at Whistler or Lake Louise or up in the Arctic, and go play in the snow every winter for the next 4 years, and then in 2015 drive it all the way home.

Yes, good idea! :)

And, yes, we are using these wide tires to be able to drive on top of the snow instead of plowing through it trying to reach the ground under.
