Help- FWC-style Lift Panel rebuild, is 1/4" ply too thick?

Does anyone know how thick you can go for the lift panels? Can you go 1/4" and still have the panels close flat? The original crap luan material is only 1/8" thick, but finding anything 1/8 thick with any kind of structural integrity is impossible where I live, even at the Home Depot. Can you go 1/4" and still have the panels close flat?

The material used in current FWC campers is 1/4" thick so I think you'll be okay.

Maybe call us the next week. Things have changed over the years. The hinge & spring sizes might be the biggest challenge going with the 1/4" panels.
