Hi guys, factory payload is 3500 +- , I’ll be adding a 500lb pop up truck camper plus 250 lbs interior build out and supplies plus after market front and rear bumpers 175lbs plus 2 adults so around 1300, so I’m hearing maybe a good hellwig sway bar and some bilsteens would be good additions, truck will used on forest servise roads , blm stuff ,no rock crawling for this beast, so given the light payload would these improvements be noticeable and worth it , thanks guys

I have basically the same 2500 GMC, bone stock, a bit older than yours with roughly the same weight and I feel that the factory suspension, tires, etc., are just coming into their own at the 1000 lbs + mark. I trust the engineering. I have virtually no rear end sag (on the truck that is...) and I could not be happier with the performance using it pretty much in the same manner as you describe. Others here obviously may have another take on it!
