Ran across this today. I can't even begin to assess its intended usefulness, but I like that base a lot more than the piece of plywood I am using.

I like that base - I hope they sell it by itself.

Much better than the plywood I am using, too!

There is a guy over on yota tech that makes a deal like this. I think it is addicted.com or one of those guys.

strictly talking about the base.

I can see adding a cpl of pieces to my hi lift that would be pretty slick here

Now if I could get the Academy to buy one so I could test it out that would be great. Of course I'm not sure the Chief would see the the need for it in my EMT/CPR classes.

That video did give me some great ideas and applications for my Hi-Lift... I never though to use it for extrication.

Not long after I upgraded to the all forged Hi-Lift I have now (all red one), we were out in the country and our trail ride got cut short. On our way back out to the pavement, we came upon a little Daihatsu Rocky with the wheels in the air pretty close to going over the edge down the side of the mountain. A new driver had taken his buddies out and lost it going down a steep section of wash-boarded road. They were lucky to have stayed in the road and not gone over.

After making sure everyone was ok, we helped them right it with our trucks and recovery gear. My Hi-Lift got used a few times, one of them being pushing the driver's side A-pillar back up to where the driver could sit up and get it off the mountain.
