HJ75 MPH gauge cluster

Looking for a bit of advice. Does anyone know where I can find an HJ75 gauge cluster in MPH? 1989 HJ75, 12V, 2H diesel motor. I found this one on iH8mud (the bottom one) so I know they exist!

Any ideas what it came out of so I can focus my search? I haven't been able to find one on eBay Australia, so I'm guessing it was a European option (maybe England?)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

They both have mph and kmh on them, so why would you bother? If you want to know mileage for service just multiply kms by 0.6. If you really want one, the UK is in fact likely your only option as pretty much every other country on the planet uses kilometers.

I don't think you understood my question. 99% of the ones I've seen, mine included, ONLY have KM/H. I want one of the dual ones like pictured above.

Ahhhhhh. That makes more sense, but yeah, still best you search in the UK. Oz and Japan will only have KMH as you can't drive to anywhere with miles, while UK and Canada should have both. You can try Radd Cruisers in Duncan BC @ 250-746-8977 or 250-597-2500. They deal with a bunch of 70 series stuff, and a lot of the Canadian 70s died early from rust, so they may have parts rigs. Failing that, there are stickers you could put on your gauge like we did when Canada moved to the metric system in the mid 1970s.

When I imported an Audi years ago I had the same issue. I pulled the cluster apart and had sticker guy make me a new mask that had KPH and MPH. That was all I needed to get it through inspection. There were others who just put the MPH sticker over the existing mask to get them through inspection.

But as previous posters have said, the UK is your best bet. Check with the Landcruiser clubs over there as a lot of their 70 series trucks come from Europe and I believe they need MPH to get through their MOT.

Been checking eBay UK. Haven't seen anything yet. Do you have an Landcruiser club forums you'd recommend? I thought about the sticker overlay, my only concern is how it will look at night with the backlighting shining through. I suppose that's a final option if I can't find another alternative.

These guys make nice looking replacement speedometers for the original cluster, but none of them seem to match my 75's speedometer.

edit, this one might be the same... hmm. I'll shoot them an email today to see if it will work.

My '85 CAN spec, 12V BJ70 is like the bottom one except the voltage tops out at 16V. Later years went to 24v.... '86 might've been transitional, not sure.

Nice! Thanks for the info. I'll see what I can find up there. Seems like it might be easier than finding one in the UK. I would need a 16V one as well as my troopy is 12V.

The gauge overlay guys emailed me back, that's a 160km/h gauge they make, mine is a 180km/h so it would be off slightly.

So I made a sort of hybrid cluster with an old speedometer out of a first gen 4Runner. My needle was broken too so I used the 4Runner one. If mine wasn't broken the troopy needle would have worked fine. It's not professional quality but it works and looks pretty decent :) I'm happy with it for now.
