So much for peaceful Prescott! (still a far cry from many places, but I still remember when there was one stop light in the entire COUNTY!).
Prescott courier: Sgt. Kevin Perlak, a 12-year veteran of the Prescott Police Department, is out of the hospital and doing well after a shooting Tuesday...
"He was shot once in the right chest and had minor injuries," Reinhardt said. Doctors at Yavapai Regional Medical Center released him Tuesday night.
Prescott Police Officer Tyler Ellsworth also was involved in the shooting. "He had minor facial injuries when the suspect punched him," Reinhardt said.
As part of Prescott Police Department policy, both officers are on paid administrative leave.
Police arrested the shooter, Daniel Brumley, 30, of Glendale, on charges of two counts of attempted first-degree murder, multiple drug violations and one count of aggravated assault. After doctors at YRMC treated Brumley for an arm injury, police booked him into Yavapai County jail.
Police arrested the driver of the vehicle, Danielle Tate, 26, a transient, on charges of two counts of attempted first-degree murder, multiple drug violations and DUI drugs. They also arrested two passengers, Irene Gonzales, 30, from Phoenix, and Jesse Carmichael, 27, a transient, on charges of two counts of attempted first-degree murder and multiple drug charges.
Then last night, my girl friend was wrapping her best friends car (a kid shes been friends with since babbyhood) in ceran wrap when a crazy neighbor came running out of his house yelling at them. This wouldn't be a big deal (glad someone is on the look out in fact!) except that he took his gun along. I would have done the same, except I would have holstered and concealed it until I thought there was a real threat. Instead, he starts screaming at everyone to lay down on the ground (were talking about two 110lb females), and putting the gun in their faces. Again, I applaud him for being on the look out, and for being concerned enough to check. But really, do you have to be a rocket scientist to know when someone is pulling a simple, harmless prank on a friend? Thankfully the friend came out and calmed this neighbor down and sent him away, and apparently the police later talked to the neighbor, but no idea what they said/did. Kelsey doesn't seam too concerned with the whole thing, but I think everyone got extremely lucky. There are SO many ways that whole situation could have gone horribly south. What really gets me is that no one seams concerned with this neighbor. Drastic over reactions like that can and do get people killed, but all too often it is just shrugged off until someone is killed or hurt because no one wants to deal with it.
