How to attach

Just joined the club and will be picking up a used Granby for my 8' F150. Any advance on my getting it attached for the trip home? I'll pull the tailgate and the bedliner, where exactly should I put the eyebolts or should I drill then when I get there? I have a steel bar across the front of my bed now that sticks out a couple inches, it's for tying down bikes, van it stay or does it need to go? All advice welcome!

Congratulations on getting your new camper, very exciting news.

I would recommend using the eyebolts and turnbuckles to secure the camper to the truck if you are travelling any further than down the street. You can contact FWC and see if they can provide you with an installation instruction sheet that details the exact placements for the eyebolts in your 8' bed. Perhaps they can scan and email or fax you one for the F150.

It is a specific detail but one to get lined out ASAP, as the eyebolt placement and turnbuckle placement is key to properly securing the camper to the truck and each truck is different. Regarding your tie-down bar, I would pull that now too, just to be on the safe side. It will be a lot easier to do the install with everything out of the way for now.

Good luck and I hope you'll post up again soon when it all comes together.

Thanks, I sent them a note and looked at some pictures from their website. I see you are in Lander, drove through this summer headed to Glacier, next time I'll wave.
