How would you build your Expedition Trailer?

I have access to a 4x6 trailer that has been stripped down to the frame. I'm looking for ideas on how I would build my expedition style trailer. I would like to fit 2 Scepter cans, a spare tire, and various other camping/wheeling equipment. If you have ideas on keeping the cargo safe from dust and weather, please share. Also, suspension? I want to make it as light as possible, as I'm towing with a Jeep Cherokee with the 4.0.

Any ideas, examples, pictures of your trailers, and input would help tremendously.

Thanks!

I think every one here has diferent ideas on what they require/ how much they want to spend and what they end up with.

Before starting my first build i did the normal investigation/internet searches. went to see a few second hand...."trailers" and found nothing really suitable
for my budget..

really you build what you want..............for me the creation is part of the fun,
hence I'm building my second one.......

Box/ equipment storage.....I spent weeks on this one first time round........

Plywood, tool boxes, plastic box's, ex-military shipping crates, dock boxes etc etc

I even looked at aluminum dog box's......the manufacturer would build me one without the windows.....

So box.........waterproof and dust proof.............no use getting to site and all your stuff is covered in mud.

Maybe a couple of aluminum trunks back to back it all really depends on how much you have to spend.

make your own out of wood or steel and panel it.

man there are so many diferent options, take a look in more depth at want you think you like, then ask more specific questions.........

Great advice-

To make easy boxes you can source a few used truck tool boxes, they make great storage, you can save weight in aluminum, and if mounted side by side you would make, essentially, a double wide truck box with access from each side.

These are already weatherproof and strong... but they will require some serious COIN $$$$$$$$ to obtain.

Have fun, sounds like a great project...
