I thought I had problems with this antenna, and replaced it with a 1/4 wave. During the install of the new antenna, I found that the NMO style mount was not making good contact. I'd used dielectric compound on the contacts to prevent corosion, and that further complicated the problem.
I've adjusted the contacts, so the antenna should work properly. The huge mag mount worked very well.
