:sombrero: You're living on borrowed time, driving like that in a JK/JKU-

They have Hydro'd in a lot less and slower speeds-

That was my first response, too.

That's how I killed a 1st gen 4runner, and why every rig I build has a safari snorkel.

Water injection!..haha!

It's a good way to put your radiator fan through the radiator as well. Blades hit the water, bend forward.

*for all who are about to complain about me doing this offroad splashing through a wild creek endangering yadda yadda...its a main road people drive through MANY times in a day to get to their houses.

havent been on here in awhile.

but the water was only about shin deep. so i wasnt too worried about the blades hitting the radiator. i was also only going about 10mph so i wasnt worried about hydroplaning. i knew it was a gamble with hydrolock. but thats why im young and stupid :snorkel: :coffeedrink:

heres the jeep about 3 months after i got it. i like the water. and i now have a snorkel

Took this shot of a buddy in his Liberty few years back...not as cool as yours!

It's fun but risky. Snorkels are cheap insurance :)

MANY years ago we were in Baja watching the gringos go through a water crossing near the top end of the Sea Of Cortez where the CO River makes it's exit. The water was running very slow about 2 ft. deep. A group of Mexicans were off to the side watching all the action and laughing when vehicles would stall and have to be pulled out. Soon after, they got in their cars and p/u's and pulled up to the waters edge BACKWARDS. As they drove across, you could see the water folding in around the front bumper as they were NOT pushing water against the grill. Granted, it may be difficult to do this type of maneuver in certain water crossings and depending on water depth and speed, but yet the concept was a pretty novel idea.
