I (and some ham friends) found my assigned call sign clumsy and hard to remember so I applied for and was just approved for a new "vanity" call sign:

K7EDB

Simple: my license level and area, followed by my initials!

Cool, I'm getting pretty used to mine. I guess I got lucky with the callsign gods. I tell people it's pop pop help!!!!

I don't mind my call and hate paying the extra money, so I'll live with it. Your old one was a little clumsy, the oscar-echo part is tough, then followed by a foxtrot would probably be easy to lose. Although if I was picking a new call I was try for the distinct letters, like XMJ, xray-mike-juliet. Seems like it would be easy to call and understand.
