I just now stumbled upon this as I was traversing the proverbial rabbit hole. That lead comment about GT is a great way to explain the difference between car camping, ( I may also add ) RVing and Overlanding. So often, on public forums such as this one, we ask good questions, give good answers, and pass along well informed opinions about vehicles and the gear we use in our day to day travels and for camping. Inevitably there is always some wisenheimer that is using an RV, pulling, pushing or dragging it along feeling the need to add their 2 cents. These folks are easy for the experienced overlander to sort out and ignore, however, a person new to our hobby can be easily mis-led. The next thing ya know that mis-led person can get themselves into some serious trouble going places they really don't belong, or doing things in the outback that are way too risky. Bottom line, and just my opinion, and without gatekeeping, Overlanding is not for everyone, nor should it be.
