I've the reference at home, the dude is in santee and works out of his garage. (Retired hobby/business type of deal) Many swear by him and his stand up reputation...

I'll find it when I get home tonight.

Thanks! I've got numbers that range from approx $175-$230 with all the wonderful ca fees and taxes.

Whoa! If you're searching, they must be spendy!
I pay a $15 handling/transfer fee here.

Note, he's not buying the gun rather having them do the transfer. You most likely wont find an FFL that will transfer for free. The $15 covers the NICS check, but most places charge a fee for the transfer. I could buy a used handgun at a local dealer for their asking price+tax+$15 phone call. If I had an out of state dealer send it there I'd expect to add $30-50 on top of that. It's just the way they work. I'm lucky to have a good FFL near me who wont run you over the coals, but have seen fees as high as $100.

Hill, Bill E. Check Auction Arm's FFL finder. It lists prices for transfers.

I understand that. I bought mine from a private party, out of state.

I paid him for the pistol and shipping, gave him the FFL I wanted it shipped to, he shipped it.

I picked it up, went through the NICS check, paid my $15 and walked out.

Maybe MN is different, (OK, I know it's different than CA), but paying $175 just to transfer a handgun is nuts.

Sooooo sorry it took so long to get this info. to you! Here you go:

Gussler's

Don Gussler
9334 Dempster Drive, Santee -
(619) 258-2543

I haven't personally used Don, but he comes highly recommended. Like I said, he has his business in his single family home. Garage, I think. All you have to do is use a google search, and you'll see many, many positive reviews about his stand-up/professional service.

Cheers!

Calguns it THE resource for all of us SoCal gun enthusiasts.. I highly recommend T&A Armory in Santa Ana for easy, low cost transfers also.

SoCal is a pretty big place. If you are in Glendale Kings will do it for $100. You can also check with Ten Percent Firearms in Taft.

Not knowing the details... If you pick it up where it is and bring it back yourself you can then file a New resident in Possession form for $19.00 with the DOJ and be done with it.

Good Luck.
