Idea for a OVRLND style camper build w/ wood frame instead

How easy, cost effective, structurally sound would it be to build a popup camper shell style like OVRLND with a wood frame? The idea seems pretty easy in my head as framing things with lumber is not that difficult. I guess the cab overhang where the bed would go is my greatest concern.

It’s probably doable. But will be very heavy compared to aluminum. And all that weight will be sitting on the bed rails.

I agree that weight would be my biggest issue with wood frame.
