Ignition Timing not responding SOS

I haven't done anything, in fact just figured out it was pinging and not valve chatter today... But I am glad it is pinging, sure makes life easier... Going to try the cheap things first, I have Sunday before I go so I might try retarding the timing as well. The pinging under load is really bad. What you are mentioning about the knock sensor definitely makes sense. The engine is low mileage but was sort of buddy deal install. ABout 90% decent but there is that 10%, vacuum leaks, little things that are quite annoying..

PS I need to find that manual online if anyone has a link! Purely for the timing specs I suppose... Break out that old gasoline timing light, LOL...

EDIT, never mind, found it, printed much of what I wanted off. Learned what TE1-E1 means, and am now reading up on timing... Ah, electronically controlled engines
