Darn internet.

I can't tell if you are kidding around or not...and my BS detector is on the fritz.

The website linked appears to be one page only...and it seems too good to be true. So it probably is.

It looks legit. Hefty $500 price tag though! Introduced at SEMA this year.

The techie in me loves this kind of innovation. Seriously cool product that has huge future potential (imagine having similar bluetooth based sensors in other areas and monitor them in conjunction with an ODBII interface!).

But the price... $500 is a lot of oil changes. For that price, you could almost double your oil change schedule.

Just reading more about this thing. It does not tell you specifically what is wrong with the oil, just that it's needs attention. So you have to do an analysis anyway to detect coolant or fuel, excessive wear, etc. I like the idea and I'd bet fleet operators and racers will be all over it. I'd expect that the technology will be (and might already on the high end) integrated into cars so a change oil light comes on.

Hmmm...so it is real...called that one wrong.

I agree, if oil analysis is $25 or so, and you maintain your own vehicle, $500 is a bit high.

But if you have a fleet of neglected vehicles, $500 might make more sense. (cents? :) )

Sorry to stray off topic, but is one analysis company better than another? I'm considering starting to do that. To analyze the oil that is, not to analyze me...
