Import a Gen 4 Montero into the U.S.?

The U.A.E. has left-hand drive vehicles. They also sold the Gen4 Pajero there. Anyone have experience importing a vehicle into the U.S.? Found this website...

I'm generally aware of import laws - was looking to import an R34 when the whole Motorex debacle happened - but, since the Gen 4 Montero is so similar to the Gen 3, maybe there's room in the law to bring one over without all the crash testing, etc?

Any recommended Registered Importers someone here has used?

If less than 25 years old, you would need an exemption for some special purpose like display or testing.
It can drive on public roads if that operation is integral to the testing demands.

You will still need to work with a certified importer. Once imported this way, it cannot be transferred or sold.
It is not an easy or cheap process before the 25 year exemption rule.
