In cab organizer...

A buddy just showed me a trunk organizer he uses in his Jeep - very sweet - soft sided, large in size, seperate compartments, flip up front panel etc. Of course they don't make that one anymore...

I have an Xantrex 600 HD, Q-Maxx air compressor, flares, hearing protection, first aid kit etc. that I would like to put in something soft sided rather than the Rubbermade box it's all in now.

What do you use?

I have a tool bag, hi-lift acc'y duffel and a large duffel for chains, strap and hardware.

ie, I'm not organized. Perhaps It will be better organized when I get a top and platform.

I use a large Rubbermaid box for repair items I want grouped together. I have Hi-Lift accessories and recoery straps in a soft-sided canvas bag. My tire air pump is also in a soft-sided bag. I use large and small Pelican cases for electronics gear or for items that may go up in the cargo basket.

Not soft-sided, but it has been a good setup for tools, chain/shackles, a few spares, plug kit, etc.. And it could have tie-downs attached to the top for strapping down light stuff like clothing duffels and sleeping bags. Plus it can be removed and has little recesses to serve as campsite cupholders if one so deisred.

Duluth Trading Co used to make exactly what you're talking about...can't seem to find it on their site anymore though...maybe worth a call though...

Strange; I can't find it either. Duluth used to offer two sizes of trunk organizers. I have the large one permanently mounted on top of a wheel well. The whole front unzips and folds down, revealing a wealth of elastic retainers, pockets, and open space. I know they had them on sale awhile back, so maybe that was the prelude to discontinuing that item. If so, it's a shame.

The Deluth unit is what my buddy has in his Jeep. It would seem that it is no longer around. For those that have it - does it have a name or model number on it?

Thanks for the info. The search continues.

It was called the Ultimate Trunk Organizer, and came in two sizes. The large was Duluth Trading Company item #56439 (and cost $41.99 at the time I bought mine). The medium size was item #56438 (and cost me $26.99).

Here's a picture of the large model on my wheel well.

Now that is the kind of solid information this Portal is known for! Thanks for taking the time to look that up! Perhaps I can find some NOS somewhere.

Well... I called and searched, even Google could not find the bag. Duluth Trading is the only one that ever sold it, as far as I can find. I called Duluth and they took note of the request and will base their decision to bring it back on demand. So, I am gonna disguise my voice and call them every couple of hours...

Yeah, it was made and sold under their name only...I like the way you think!

I'll call them tomorrow to encourage them to reoffer it, and maybe make some of my law student volunteers call, too.
