Insulation/carpet for front cab area

I picked up a 2002 e350 v10 several months ago. Got it for cheap as it had a miss to it.
After throwing every new part possible at it and it not solving the issue I dedicated to tearing into the front timing cover to see if it was a timing issue. Found a damaged crank trigger wheel and replaced chains and guides while in there. She runs like a top now so finally after months of work, parts, and head scratching....I can finally start on the campervan conversion.

The floor has been stripped and por-15 rust treated. I plan on laying down some rigid foam paneling on the floor, then plywood and hope the foam compresses into the valleys of the floor. Then will carpet it.
But I have to work on it in steps as budget allows. Right now the van is completely stripped inside
My main focus is to get the front cab area insulated/carpeted and seats reinstalled so I can start driving it to work to get a feel for the van and make sure its road ready.

I threw away the stock plastic flooring as the padding under the plastic was moisture soaked and nasty. I should of kept it and just peeled the padding off the bottom and power washed it but too late now.
For the front cab arwa I was thinking about just laying down some reflectix and glue it down, then glue down some of that thin outdoor carpeting like used on boats. I dont plan to camp in the winter but want decent insulation.

Does the reflectix/carpet idea sound ok for the cab area? The back area will be insulated better and will have an insulated curtain to divide it off from the cab but just need to get the cab area done quickly on the cheap so i can get seats back in so its driveable.

Is reflectix/carpet ok? Or is there better options ive overlooked?
Thanks

I fit a 1/2 inch foam board to the front floor and carpet over it.
As for sound reduction and temps, pretty good but we boots... make for a damp smell.
A layer of thick plastic between would have been better.

So...does the 1/2 foam board compress well with seats over it or did u cutout area for seat mount? It doesnt compress and leave dips if stood on? Did you use polyiso or?

I have a big roll of rubber roofing foil backed valley tape that has adhesive on rubber side. Thinking of using it in cab area against floor, then liquid nail carpet over it. Any thoughts on this?

I bolted the seats on top and it does compress...
But if I were to do again, I'd try something different.

i used roadkill. its a "dynamat like" product, but MUCH cheaper. got it from amazon.

i put it all over the front cab floor, and then put the stock rubber mat and insulation under it.

yeah, similar deal.

just make sure you get stuff that doesn't smell like tar, cuz thats the last thing you wanna smell boxed up in a van.
