Interior LED lights

I currently keep the interior lights off and only manually turn them on if I really need them. To reduce electrical load and increase the life of the bulb, I am thinking of converting to LED interior lights. I have seen Kevin's set up, and it is a sweet set up, and very bright. Brightness can be both a pro and con.

What do you all think?

Get soemthing with a dual switch, like some of the headlamps you see. I agree, something more mundane for while you're dirving and the passenger might need to check a map, and something hella bright when you can't find your wallet that fell somewhere.

I'm Lovin' LED Lights!

I love the very low wattage used for light output produced.

Not only for the interior........I'm constantly looking for an LED underbody/rock light solution!........and other.

I understand your concern as for an extremely bright light in your eyes....and then you head outside of your truck and fall off a cliff. Not a good thing!

There has to be a compromise. We are only limited by our own imagination!

I'm looking as well. Trying to make a major power consumption drop since my truck only came with a 80 amp alternator.

Sort of not what you are asking, but I picked up two of these:

$8 eash at Autozone.

One is inside my truck cap, over my ammo can. (For tools, not ammo...)

The other is on the underside of the passenger side visor, as a map light. I can read by the light when my wife is driving, and no glare to the driver. Uses 3 AAA batteries, so leaving it on is not a big deal. I installed them with industial velcro, so they double as a flashlight, if the other 4 stop working.

I scored a couple waterproof, submersible small white LED's from boaters world. They cast a nice low glow on the cooler and campsite, their mounted on the roll cage in the rear.
