Interior smells

Let's face it, this lifestyle leads to living out of your truck for extended periods of time, and as much as we don't want to admit it humans are pretty messy, stinky creatures. Many of us have children and/or pets also that contribute to the pungent aromas of a vehicle interior. What do you guys use to help calm those less than pleasant odors? I just stumbled on a company called gents scents that I might try, but wanted to see what others are using.

Ozone generator. What used car dealers and hotels/motels use to get rid of odors.

You can run the car fan while the ozone is in the vehicle and sterilize/defunk all the climate control ducts and such too.

This may not be very high tech, but we always include a can of Febreeze air freshener in our gear...it’s good for spraying the inside of stinky hiking boots, the under arms of odorous shirts (to get another day or two out of them) and also good for covering up bathroom odors.

We travel with open windows, our dogs swim daily, winter too, people have a daily shower, fresh clothes every day ot two .... all the aromatic solutions mentioned above I find more repugnant than a bit of body odour.

I'm somewhat strict with the interior of my vehicle. If you keep it clean, you should keep it stench free.

I ask people not to get into the car too dirty or too wet. I'm careful as well. I use all-weather mats, cargo mat and seat covers. They help a lot.

The dog would be the cause for stench, if any, but he travels on the cargo mat on short distances and in his kennel for long distances. This also helps keep dirt and grime at bay.

I thoroughly clean the vehicle after every trip (focusing on the interior) and do a carpet and seat cleaning something like twice a year.

Plain old charcoal briquettes...not the pretreated with lighter fluid, it's one of the best odor eliminators ever and they're cheap! Put a few in a sock and tie a knot in it and strategically place them throughout your rig and you'll be surprised, change then out monthly and you're good to go!
