Here is a thought for a medium duty non-cabover 4x4.

Thanks, Mike. eBay "buy it now" for $15,000. It's a 1990 truck with 54,782 miles.

The International 4800 4x4 is used as a brush truck or off-road tanker by the Forest Service and other fire fighting outfits. You could put a very large camper on a truck with 26,000 lb GVWR!

I wonder what the truck was used for. Only 54K miles in almost 20 years of service?

Good trucks...Ive driven both the 444 and 466 motors and would recommend the bigger motor if possible but the smaller is a 7.3, same as Ford powerstroke, and not bad at all. They were both tow trucks and either would easily tow large RVs, dump trucks, etc and run down the highway just fine. The 444 would get an average of 12 MPG and I dont recall what the 466 would get.

That's got a really substantial looking (PTO?) winch on it. What would a truck like that have been used for? It doesn't look like a tow truck.

Truck was used (or not used) by a local, to the seller, utility company. The mileage is stated to be correct. If you look at the engine pics, it does look like nothing has been "crecked" open on it. Good luck, go for it.

I agree. You might be able to respray the cab and chassis to cover up an aging/rusty truck, but you couldn't duplicate the looks of that engine without a lot of work. It hasn't seen much winter use in the rustbelt, if any.

Thanks for the responses, but I was just listing for FYI in case others had an interest in something like this. For a truck this size, in a metro-suburb area, I would bet the regs on something like that would make it non-personal so to park it in a normal 4" cement driveway or the city street wouldn't be acceptable.

What I had picked up recently is a 05 SuperDuty F350 with the 6.0lTD. It has a bull bar on the front and a custom tool flat bed on the back. I'm nervous of the 6.0l, but read and heard of good and bad to really bad happenings. So I'm taking a chance on this vehicle. It is a little more acceptable in my neighborhood. LOL.
