Is e-Bike Trailer Living Feasible for Full-Time Adventuring?

We see some pretty cool mini camper trailer for
1) e-Bike [], cool, but see flimsy for adventuring offroad?
2) Motorcycle [like https://roadwarriorcampers.com.au/, https://ushioutdoors.com/ushi-trailer-chuck/], rock! but maybe heavy w/o in-wheel trailer motors?
3) DIY [like and ], which is our current path...but would rather buy vs build from scratch.

We wonder what people think of the ideas and if Full-Time Adventuring is helpful? All thoughts are helpful

***Note we full-timed for 2 years in a 2012 GTI with an RTT, but mostly boondocking in cities

Cool dream, very curious to see how it develops! I don’t have any experience with ebikes (yet) but lurk on a few FB groups to learn more. I would be cautious about the extra complexity on such an epic ride. From researching the Canada portion of the GDMBR for next year, I understood some sections are not recommended for trailers. Are you able to plug in every night?

@Trail Talk these are some great questions you raised:
  • Power Concerns: We're exploring solutions for extended e-bike/trailer range, including battery storage, solar power generation, alternative charging methods, fully active suspension, and motor assist options. We're also developing a concept called WISE power and WISE suspension for improved personalization, advanced complex comprehension and reasoning of biosignals, environment and machine towards rider goals, and machine autocorrection get to those goals.
  • Hike-a-Bike Assistance: We're looking for ways to provide WISE assistance for hike-a-bike situations, making it feel like a regular bike even with a trailer attached, if that's the rider's goal.

Additional Considerations:
  • Traveling with Dogs: We'll be bringing along 4 dogs, with 2 potentially requiring an enclosed trailer for a 27-day, 100-mile-per-day trip. Ugh, more weight!
  • WISE Trailer for E-Bike/Motorcycle Exploration: We're considering a "nano" version of the Bruder EXP 4 as a baseline concept for the e-bike trailer platform as a potential option, possibly extending to motorcycles.
This is all still in the conceptual phase, but that's where exciting ideas take root!

Thanks for the feedback so far. Please keep it coming! Greg

Isn't a large part of that on actual trails? Something like a Burley trailer could work, but not the other ones you showed, which are only suitable for roads.

Really this whole thing seems silly, with 4 dogs being hauled around and scaled down Bruder EXP 4 trailers. Physics will bite you in the butt.

Seriously, what is this? "We're also developing a concept called WISE power and WISE suspension for improved personalization, advanced complex comprehension and reasoning of biosignals, environment and machine towards rider goals, and machine autocorrection get to those goals."

Lots of cyclists do the GDMBR but it's not for the weak. If you need a motorbike to do it you might rethink. Won't the dogs need to be leashed?

Sounds like a nerd with no common sense.
Another bot would be my guess.

This is how I'd do it...

hi @rruff , we really want to ride GDMBR with our furry family members. We would prefer doing it with our existing 26er and CX bikes pulling them with the Burley Coho and BOB trailers we have...but the extra 50lbs+ makes it doubtful. So we believe there has to be a possible solution. At this stage its all concepts.

Thanks for the comments.

You should be arrested for animal abuse hauling 4 dogs 100 miles a day for 27 days in a light trailer!

Sounds like a nerd with no common sense.
@Ozarker we love our furry family members. We have been doing local dog/bikepacking trips with increasing distance and duration.
Thanks for the comment

You need to get some huskies and train them to pull a land-sled. Every once in awhile you can turn them loose to kill a deer or something, so you don't need to carry food for them.

I don't know what your other dogs look like, but they should not be payload!... unless they are tiny things that will fit in a pocket.

Snacks for bear and lions! I haven't been able to find reports of successful ebike completions of the GDMBR but I assume you have or you wouldn't be planning this. Share some links?
