Isuzu trooper CB Ant mount

I never thought I would be one who couldn't figure out how to mount something, but I am at a loss as to how to mount my CB antenna. I have a 94 trooper, and can't for the life of me figure out where to mount the (4ft) antenna.

I thought about the hood, but a 4 ft antenna sticking up from the hood might look ridiculous. My brother mentioned the bumpers, but I have stockers and not sure I want to do that. I still have my spare tire on the tire mount so that is sorta out of the question.

If you have any ideas, can you post up, even a picture would be great.

yeah, what he said above, use the spare tire mount. If you have a tire cover over your spare, you can install it between the door and the tire. If you have no spare tire cover, you can get a bracket that sticks out from the spare tire center.

BTW, if you remove the spare tire cover, your spare tire will be subject to the deteriorating effects ("Dry Rot"), of ultraviolet radiation (from direct, prolonged exposure to sunlight).You may want to consult with your tire dealer before removing the spare tire cover.

If I use the spare tire mount for my antenna, I am most likely to remove the portion of the cover that will allow me access to the necessary mounting hardware and leave the rest of the spare tire cover intact to protect the tire from UV damage, which is what the spare tire cover is there for!

I mounted my antenna (5' Wilson) on a piece of aluminum angle then mounted it to the trooper using the top two license plate bolts. I ran the wires through the hole for the license plate light (no drilling). It's completely removable and you would never know it was there.

This is what I did on my Trooper. Turned out to be a good place to avoid tree branches. Probably not the best performance, but it has been plenty good for trail rides.
