Agreed, great set of shots. I love the clouds and mountainscape on that second one. Beautiful area.

I'll share some from this weekend as well- I set out to capture what I feel typifies fall in my locale, so I tried to use elements that are familiar sights in this region.
As expected when taking photographs at the extreme ends of the day, some shots required playing with tricky exposures, but I think I made some headway in conveying what I was seeing.

No need to cross post, I posted some shots here. Here are a few more recents from around Ontario though.

...and yep, apparently up here even our leaves wear plaid.

These ones were kind of crazy, taken looking straight up at around 3:30-4:00 pm, the sky was so blue and the leaves all back lit by the west bound sun. I didn't even polarize the shot, had I the sky would probably be black.

No style points for these, as they were shot at noon under harsh light, but it gives you an idea of the landscape. This is inside Algonquin Provincial Park, a monster park too, larger than Delaware for comparison purposes, and home to a bazillion little biting bugs in May, June, and early July. Tons of moose too!

Joash, I just realized that you are approximately 3 hours directly west of me. I'm only a half hour drive from the Blue Water bridge. I always wondered why some of your shots look like they could have been taken in my back yard.

GreenTaco, once again you demonstrate your amazing eye. What is your technique for the first image. I've NEVER seen a floor to floor canopy shot. That is just too cool!

I took a little drive to see if I could get some fall colors photos and got a bit more than I expected. I drove south into the Uinta Mountains which are just over the WY/UT border. The weather ended up being a bit nasty as it was really windy and snowing really hard. The snow started out as sleet, then BB sized hail, and finally really wet snow. At the start of the drive there was maybe 1/2" and the road was bare and muddy. Near the end it was about 4-5" and the road was muddy underneath with a thick coating of snow and it was slick. I pulled over several times to let trucks pulling campers and trailers with horses or ATVs pass by as they were having a rough time in the slop trying to get to hunting camp. Here are a few of the photos. They aren't the best, but they will give you an idea of what it was like there.

its a multi shot stitched panoramic.. it kind of just happened while i was out shooting, i ended up shooting one image, then moving up and kept doing that till i was bent over backwards trying to get the ground back in view then i fell over.

i love how it turned out, now i just need the pink sunset clouds and it will really be an awesome shot.
