New tires for the Disco!

Well, within 2 minutes of entering my property from retrieving my new to me Rover, I stick it. Crappy tires, high pressure and slick mud are a brutal combination.

No glamor shots here,

Nice rig! a small lift, with your stock rims painted gunmetal would be an awesome combo with that paint scheme!

Might I suggest doing nothing to the LR and looking into a drainage system for your property? :snorkel:

Pretty funny actually! The water comes across our property (7 Acres) and enters into a drain further down on the property. I knew it would muddy but with all the rain and a heavy Disco, it sunk. Had to have my friend come up with his SIII 88 and pull me out. Went and picked up the kids in it and it worked perfect. Mission complete!

It is intersting driving that motor with a manual transmission. I have driven them with the Auto's before. I dare say it is spirited (compared to other Land Rovers I have driven) and is fun.

Where are your footprints in the mud, you crawl out the back or what? :hehe:

Thats the strange part about the dirt. Supports a person without a problem, add a heavy truck and you are through. My 110 went through the same area with little problem. It has new tires and no roof or sides so it is lighter.

Cool truck. And yeah, it's funny what a manual tranny can do to an engines "peppines" eh... I shudder to think what my 22RE would feel like in my heavy truck with a slushbox behind it... EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWW

Now that's a pretty respectable picture. The old guy rescuing a new(er) guy.

Hi Blair,

If you don't mind me asking, what where your impressions of the handling and performance of the Disco after you upgraded to the 245/75's?

I have a 96 Disco also a 5-speed and looking to upgrade tires as well right after tax season :victory:

Just added the Cooper 245/75-16's. A little tight until the OME's are installed.
