I've essentially replaced my tripod: GorillaPod Focus + Ballhead X

I think I've used my tripod once or twice in the past year. The GorillaPod Focus gets the job done in a smaller package that is also more versatile in many cases. For sure there are still times when I need the height you get with a standard tripod, but I'll bet you won't use one much after trying the GorillaPod.

I hear you and I do apologize. I really did look back in my profile and see if there was another post, didn't see the older one. I'll work hard to not have it happen again. I do want to drive traffic to my website, but I also do try to only share stuff on here that I think the overland community will enjoy. I've learned a ton from this forum and want to share my experiences as I gain knowledge through my travels.

I'm stoked with the Gorilla Pod and Ballhead as well. I saw you use it in Baja earlier this year and when I came home I purchased one right away…it's a hardcore piece of equipment that I use for my GoPro's, Canon S100's and my Canon 7D…soon to I'll get to use it on my 5DMIII…thanks for the review…

You guys rock, and are why I love sharing cool gadgets with everyone. I only put stuff on my website that I actually use and would recommend. I have for sure NOT put up a few things that companies have sent me for review that have not lived up to my standards, and turned down MANY products because I know they won't meet my demands. The GorillaPod Focus is a solid piece of kit and the Ballhead X makes it that much more useful for stills and video. I'm looking forward to shooting more video with it soon.

Appreciate the kind words Hooligan. I'll be sure to put you on the long list of "underprivileged overlanders" who would love the Sportsmobile Hopefully it sells quickly as I'm anxious to build a new rig and hit the road soon. If it dosen't I'll do some modifications to it and hit the road anyway

I'm glad you've enjoyed yours dirtnewz, I knew it would come in handy for what you do. Being able to use it with such a variety of camera equipment is why it is so cool. Stoked to see the content you create with the new MIII!
