Jeep Prices Dropping?

Watching football, saw ad for local Jeep dealer and it seemed to indicate some decent price dumps

Went to their website

Saw combined discounts from their “MSRP’s” of $15–$20 k.

What are you guys seeing locally?

Is Stellaris finally trying to get rid of the excess inventory it’s been plagued with?

Stopped by the jeep dealer here in Yuma to check out the gladiators and they were 12-15k below MSRP on the 2024’s and around 4K off the 2025’s. Of course there were certain conditions that got the price down that low like being a first responder or a student. The one I thought was pretty stupid was if I was trading in a ford that would get me 2k off MSRP, my Ram pickup got me nothing. So after all the discounts I didn’t qualify for I was looking at only about 9k off MSRP which isn’t bad but it’s not 15k either.

In Feb 2024 I had to replace my 2014 WK2 with 330k miles due to it going to boneyard, see thread here:

I have been watching Stellantis and knew these cuts were coming, I wish I could have waited longer to purchase my new one, but that's life. With my warranty buyout and selling dead jeep to "cars for cash" my total cash out of pocket was $41k, or 31.8% off MSRP so not too shabby.

It was obviously a huge mistake for Jeep to price their vehicles as luxury vehicles, which they are not.

When I was shopping for a WK2 years ago, I came across this site which showed an unusual spike in issues for MY 2014. Still, it’s pretty impressive you went almost 300k miles.

I’m not sure about the new LC’s. I hate the hybrid with the big battery pack in the cargo. I prefer the GX with a V6 and no battery pack. Of course, it’s more expensive. And if $ is an issue, I’d even sway towards the new 4Runner, if staying with Toyota. They’re about the same size anyway.

Locally, the stealer dealer, had good pricing on the vehicle, until you added in the extras they tried to load up, paint protection, under coating, glass protection, premium programing (?), admin fee and registration transfer fee, plus 6 points on financing. Spent more time getting those fees taken off and turning down extras than test driving and setting a price, it was very annoying. Ticked off a bit, traded the old one in and paid cash difference-done!

I was thinking this was an unbelievable deal. But 2.5 star dealer rating says something’s fishy. Their website (linked in the carguru site) shows a sales price of $41k that includes various incentives that you must qualify for (ie military and lease). I’d guess 99.9% of the people won’t get near that price.

I drove a brand new Sahara last week for a rental. I don't know what they sell for but I wouldn't give $30k for it. I didn't realize how crappy these cars are. But, I get why so many love them.

Went through this BS with Chevy back when the Trail Boss Custom first came out. Driving Chevy all my adult life, and they would only give me the bigger discount if I traded in a Dodge.

All comes down to them trying to make sure they have a market leg up on one manufacturer or another this quarter. Then you see the TV ads and they say "we outsold Ford 2 to 1 this quarter" and you know.

I was within about 3 grand of the price I wanted the truck for, but because I couldn't get the best discount, I left. I went to another dealer, bought my lightly used GMC with all sorts of toppings for 12 grand less and have enjoyed it ever since

Military, first responder who is also a student (or teacher) and single parent who is trading in a competitor's truck with less than 30k miles on it. On the right Tuesday of the week.

Jeep has long been known for electrical problems. My old WJ was famous. Battery clamp broke and not enough cable to reach after installing new clamp.

Interior lights wouldn't shut off after closing door and trying to alarm it. The problem? A broken ground wire inside the bundle that is in the crook of the open front door. They didn't install enough length of wire, so those wires are always stretched to breaking. The fix? Some primary wire and a half our of search a d repair.

Nice to see that as time goes by, the reliability has gotten generally better. Wonder how it matches up to, say Honda or something

I used to think with globalization of parts, talent, etc, that the gap was narrowing.
I think company culture and leadership matters and has major impact in the end product.
This was eye opening.

As you may already know, Stellantis CEO was given the boot recently. He simultaneously raised prices and cut costs across the board to the point where people voted with their wallet. My buddy has a 2020 Sahara that he bought used in 2022 for $40K. He loved it so much he gave to his daughter and ordered a 2023 Rubicon 4xE for $82K! The pricing just doesn't make sense so now supply far exceeds demand which means prices will have to come down to clear out the old inventory.

I recently sold my 100 series (sadly due to rust) and ordered a '24 Willys V6 6MT w/ 33's and Sky One Touch. MSRP was $56K and I got it for $45K. I got in line for a new LC, but it didn't give me the same tank like feeling of my 100 and I'm just not a fan of 4 cylinder turbos. All the dealers around me were adding stupid ADM so it was going to be $70K+ for the LC 250 - nope.

The Jeep checks a lot of boxes. Sure, it doens't have the quality of my LC, but my LC was $63K new in 2003! I like driving a manual transmission again. The SOT is like owning a convertible. The wireless apple carplay is excellent. Having 33's from the factory where nothing rubs is awesome. 3.6L NA V6 with port injection - about as simple as they come. Rear locker and tow package comes standard on the Willys. 13 mpg with the LC, 19 mpg with the Willys. Don't know if I'll keep it for 10 years, but I'm having a blast with it so far.
