Jeep with rear seat large enough for adults

I'm am looking at Jeeps to replace my Nissan king cab truck. One feature I want, is a rear seat large enough for an adult on a long trip. I had an XJ years ago, and the back seat wasn't nearly big enough for my teenagers, let alone an adult.

Teenagers do come in various sizes. I'm 6'3" and fit in the back of my JKU. I had a Frontier for 8 years before I bought the Jeep. Had it about a month now and I like it allot. Actually my Sport gets better mpg than my 2 wheel drive Frontier did.

The Grand's have a bit more room in the back seat, but for 'cross country comfort' in a Jeep, you need to look at the JKU, possibly the Commander. (I have never seen a Commander up close, but have heard the back seats(middle seats??) are not much better than an XJ)

Grand is good for average adults.above 6 ft and it will be tough. Even the front is limited on leg room and headroom....

The Wrangler unlimited isn't too bad. I'm 6' and I can set up me seat up front, and still be fairly comfortable in the seat behind it. I don't see it being an issue for four adults to make a trip, but five is pushing it. The middle seat is kind of a cruel joke, with no real support underneath.
The only thing that is a little uncomfortable is looking at the speaker bar in front of your face back there.

I really had not considered a JKU. I'll check them out. I just need it to comfortably seat four full size adults on a 4-6 hour road trip. I'm 6' and weigh about 220. I need to be comfortable in the rear just in case I have to ride back there.

I've owned 2 JKUs and did a 1300 km road trip (~800 miles?) in one (JKUR 2010). Of that, probably half was spent in the back seat (had the back seat to my self). It wasn't comfy. It wasn't uncomfortable, but it wasn't great either. The soft top was on and the rear windows were out. I think this made it worse as I couldn't hear the guys in the front talking. I eventually just laid across the seat (back against the door) and slept. For a few hours at a time, or it's only on a rare occasion (couple times a year) it's probably not a big deal... but 4-6 on a regular basis (assuming I'd be in the back the whole time, every time) I'm pretty sure I'd hate it.

I've done multiple long trips (one trip was 5000 miles) as the driver and love it. But as the passenger in the back seat? I don't know. There is a mod that you can do that slightly changes the angle of the back seats a few degree's that's suppose to make a world of difference. I'll never do it, solely because I'll never be the guy in the back seat for any length of time. Yes I'm going to be an ******* and either be driving or on the very rare off chance I'm not, I have shotgun. I didn't spend 40k+ to sit in the back seat for any extended period of time.

The rear seats in the Commander are firm but comfortable, more comfortable than the rear seats in my JKU. They were about the only thing I really liked about the Commander. The 3rd row seats however are useless for anybody above 4.5'.

My only gripe with the rear seats in the JKU's is they are to upright. Plenty of legroom for me, I'm 6'1" but I like a little recline in my seating position.

Here is an option
It gives you the ability to lean back.
This was one of the JK's from the JK Experience Weekender event last year in Arizona.
