SOLD Jensen JHD3510 heavy duty radio SOLD

I was one of the lucky few who were able to snatch up a batch of JHD3510s from a seller in Indiana. These radios retail new for $300 and I got it for cheap.

I intended to install this in my 03 Tacoma.. However, the unit WILL NOT fit in my Tacoma. Therefore I'm selling it and hopefully the next owner will be able to take advantage of this deal. I'm asking for $85 shipped. Comes in original box w/ manual, all cables, and wireless remote.

Link to the ebay auction that I won with picture of actual unit: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370333215117&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I've taken some pictures of the radio.

Someone asked me what did I mean when I said there is some damage on a button.. You can see a close up of that. The radio arrived to me in that fashion. The seller tested the radio before selling and I take their word for it since they've sold a bunch of these all with positive feedback. The actual auction I won - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370333215117&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT (awwwctionpro ( 5248) 99.9% Positive feedback)

It looks like to me a knife or scalpel grazed against the top of the DISP button and the raised area around the AUX input, rounding off the upper edge that would otherwise be there. I don't think it was dropped because the other buttons around it shows no damage nor does the radio face plate. The DISP button feels fine when pressed. This is a Heavy Duty radio and it certainly feels that way.

Why won't it fit in the Tacoma? Is it a non DIN size?

I couldn't see it on their website but often it is in the owners/install manual... Do you know what operating angles its recommended for? I need something for a Tuffy console in my Land Cruiser, which loads from the top.

The Jensen is an E-DIN. The 1st Tacoma expects only J-DIN or ISO-DIN. I think there are some subtle differences. The 2nd gen Taco works with E-Din (as indicated by Crutchfield)

1) The mounting holes on the sides are not fully compatible with the mounting brackets in the 03 Tacoma. I modified the taco's mounting brackets a bit and got it mounted decently, but it was not as sturdy as I would have liked. A more skillful person can probably modify either the bracket or the radio chassis to make it work. I would use Crutchfield's fit guide for this radio if you are interested.
2) After securing the mounting brackets the radio installed fine into the dashboard chassis. All 4 screws are able to go into the dash. However, the opening of the dash face panel is not wide enough. I'd have to cut and make it wider to sufficiently fit this radio.

If the above to issues doesn't seem like a big deal to you, then by all means deem this radio compatible with a 1st gen Taco :sombrero:

The owners manual is online here https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=...chpdf/JHD3510%20Owners%20Manual%206-22-07.pdf

Just measured out some dimensions of the radio:

Chassis - 7" wide 6.5" deep, 7.5" deep including the front face plate.

Face plate (looking at it from the front) - 2-1/4" tall 7-3/8" wide (this is what killed it for me.. too wide)
