So,we're very excited because we got our first couple of Jurgens XT140 demos in. We've been able to spend a lot of time poring over them, testing and teasing, and now I get to give all my input to the factory engineers on my visit next month. I will be spending substantial time with the engineers at both Howling Moon and Jurgens, perfecting all the products for the US market.

This will include wiring loom changes for our brake light/running light setup in the US, side running lights etc. The trailer tracks beautifully, handles rough ground with ease and poise, and the overall build quality and ruggendness is excellent. This is one serious value trailer! Considering the super sturdy and stout construction, and all the standard features which include roof rack, jerry cans and holders, nose cone, spare wheel, off-road tires, brakes, water tanks, fridge slide and stove bracket; this is a super solid fully-featured trailer priced at just $7,500! The chassis is also E-coated for superior rust resistance.

In the meantime, Jurgens has come out with some fantastic accessories for the whole Jurgens line, that will be very welcome.

The slide out fridge/freezer drawer will now include a gas stove bracket. This means you can mount your stove and have it easily accessible along with the fridge and prep area. We will be offering the option of mounting the Cadac 2-cook stoves to the trailer, which features 2 burners and both flat and ribbed griddles, which are removable for easy cleaning.

Another accessory is a tiered slide drawer system in the rear that will hold 4x Ammo/Wolf boxes. This will add a great deal of organization to the trailer, and allow access to all that you want handy and secure.

We also have propane tank brackets that mount on the rear swingaway tire-carrier. These brackets can be mounted on either side of the spare wheel and provide easy access to the tanks, should you prefer to not keep them secured in the tongue box/nose cone.

What would you like to see? Request for pics; tell me what you'd like to see and I'll make an excuse for some more "testing"!

What size propane canister will your holder accommodate?:coffeedrink:

There are 2 sizes available, to fit a 7lb and a 10lb canister. We also do have other sizes to fit in the nose cone, but smaller ones are carried on the rear due to the location of the spare wheel on the swing away. Since tank sizes are different in SA and USA, we'll have to check compatibility and perhaps change the clamp diameter for the US.

Can you tell us more about the suspension of the XT-140?
Any plans to bring the smaller XT-75 to the US?
Any plans to import the Camper Trailer, the Explorer?
Thx.

It's always great to have more options on the market.

But, I thought the US spec changes had to be made before the registered importer could release the trailer.

ThomD,
That's why we brought in demo units; to ascertain exactly what we needed to change from the factory level. The trailer we bring in for sale will meet all DOT and NHTSA requirements so they can be registered in the owners state once sold.
Thanks for asking.

Hey Swiss,
It's a 3,500lb torsion axle. We are also investigating a retrofit to allow a spring over/under option.
We will be bringing in the XT75 as well. This will be a much lower optioned spec but will be at a great price point; a little over $6k!!
We are indeed bringing in the Xplorer too. Check this out: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42765&highlight=jurgens

This would fit the ticket right there :wings:

I'm afraid I might have to wait until I got the boys through college before I can afford one, but hey ... Somewhere on this forum I read the quote that "The difference between a dream and a plan is the action"; a higher spec trailer than my home-made one I use right now definitely is a plan, not just a dream :wings:

Very cool, but more info is needed please, like pictures of the trailers inside and out, all the details. I know that a lot of work but it hard to get super excited on just a few small not very detailed pictures...

On one of the trailers on your site (not the pictures you posted) it shows another tent on the front hitch of the second camper offered but theres not enough pictures to see how it goes on, how many it sleeps, spec's etc. Just more details please, prices on the campers, are they going to be available and if so when/where? I think these are really cool and the wife, kids an I are going to be upgrading here soon so....

Thanks and good luck, they look the part!!

Rou was gracious enough to stop by with one of his trailers on his trek from Charleston (first trailer's port of entry) to Arizona.
I got to crawl inside, over and under the trailer.
It is extremely well built and is great because it has lots of side and rear access and then the lid lifts as well for total overhead access.
Additionally, I like the way the rear slopes up with sliders to assist in protected departure angle.
The rack is heavy duty with a slide area underneath for a table.
The nose cone is sealed fiberglass and has a ton of room.
There is a sealed and skid plate protected area under the fridge slide to hold the electronics and battery(ies).
It comes ready to add whichever tent you choose and if you do your research, you'll find that Howling Moon is one of the oldest standards by which others are held.

Thanks
Dendy
