Just got done with a 1700 mile trip with a Tahoe I bought last Friday. Here's a link to the in progress trip report if interested: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/124267-3-Days-with-a-New-Truck-AZ-UTAH-COL-IDAHO-OREGON-WA-1700-Miles?p=1551175#post1551175

97 Tahoe LT 4x4, One Owner (Old Lady), have a pile of documentation from the day it was new. In the last 6 months - New Radiator, Water Pump, complete Fuel Injection system has been replaced, new tires, new AC system (compressor, lines etc.). Been very well cared for, has had a lot of issues taken care of that already that would be typical for a vehicle of this age.

I grew up with 88-98 Full Size Chevy's. My dad always owned them, and I this is my 3rd of the same era. Just love these trucks. I can't get into one whether its a pickup, tahoe, suburban etc and not smile. It just feels like home. The nostalgia is nice. But I honestly just love these rigs. Easy to work on, I know my way around them etc.

Anyways, after 1700 miles I got to know her pretty well. She ran great, knocked down 20mpg while cruising 80-85 for a bit portion of it. Ran nice and cool, had good power in the mountains and was super comfy! Need to look at options for leveling out the rear as it is sagging a bit. Need to change plugs/wire/coil etc. Master Cylinder is leaking a smidge, Just little things but overall she is very solid!

After the small little issues are ironed out, I will slowly start with the upgrades, but in no big rush.

Here's a few pics from Moab

Congrats man. I am also stuck on this body style.... teal green..... wow never seen that color before....... :)

Simple Air shocks off Rockauto.com for $60 is the best bet, I am going to order Deaver springs for the rear when the money is not needed elsewhere, but for the sag and extra weight of 8 passengers I just added the air shocks. Simple and effective, but my tongue weight is minimal..these are 1/2 ton trucks right?

I love the color. I have seen it before, but not very often. Digitaldelay, funny story..

The Tahoe is actually from Canada. Bought new in BC, went to AZ in 05. I am originally from Arizona, from a town called Apache Junction. I moved to the Seattle area a few years ago.

I was going through the folder of documents, and there are several invoices from non other than Apache Junction.

So it started life in the Northwest (Just outside in Vancouver, BC, it went to AZ, and then I brought it back to the NW. Circle of life.

TooTall, I will check those out. Thanks. Yes, they are 1/2 ton trucks. I also don't ever tow, and if I do it's nothing too serious.
