Just picked up a 2006 Chevy Express 2500.

Hey everyone,


I just picked up my first van. Its a 2006 Chevy Express 2500, that has already had the Quigley conversion done to it. It has the Duramax in it with 99,000 miles, so thats a good start. My question is, has anyone done performance upgrades to their vans? If so, what did you do, and what would you suggest I do on this van?


Also, where are you all getting your parts from? Parts such as, bumpers, racks, etc. Everything i have found is for the E series vans, so I'm not sure where to look for parts for the Chevy's. Any guidance or help would be greatly appreciated!

Performance mods are kind of a personal thing, but depending on your goals, a custom tune or programmer might be a good next step.

I haven't seen many duramax vans on here at all. Sounds like a ************ rig.

That thread above is for AWD vans specifically, so won't give much (if any) good insight on your 4x4 diesel van.

Plus they only made the AWD version in a 2500 for 1-year.

Thanks for the replies guys! Here some pictures of the van, the first one is the day i got it, and the other is from today, i started taking the badges off and getting ready to prep the paint. I also started tearing the interior out today, they had a bench in there, but i had to do away with that for now. I own a business that does vinyl wraps, custom stereo builds, window tint, etc. So i have some cool plans ahead for the van. The interior should be pretty cool, yet functional at the same time.

As far as the van scene, I'm completely new to it, so any suggestions are welcome! A lot of the parts i am finding are for the E Series van, and although I'm not new to Diesels this is my first Duramax, so i went sure if the programmers for the Silverado Duramax and all that would be the same or not. So any suggestions are welcome!

Hahaha i definitely did. Lucky for me it has spread to other parts of the van as well. (Roof, rear doors, etc.)

Ah, that sucks. It's all part of the package, though.

Look into EFI Live tuning. Way more customizable than off the shelf plug-in tuners. Idaho Rob is the guy in the D-Max forums that is doing all their tunes. Awesome Rig!

Is your Quigley conversion a solid axle or independent?
