I used to pack this down to baja with me on top of my Land Rover and do some kayak fishing. I thought someone here might be interested in doing the same.
This kayak is a wonderful paddling kayak. I used to live on sunset cliffs and took it out many times to the kelp beds and once up to La Jolla Cove. I have used for touring, exercising, fishing, etc (even brought my lobster pot out once!). I used to launch and paddle in/out through the surf and it does that great even when the surf is quite large, but... This kayak does not surf well. If you are looking for a surfing kayak, this is not it! Because this kayak is 11.5 feet and nice narrow entry with wide stable middle section, it paddles, tracks and glides really well. It also has a place in the back to secure a dive tank if you wanted to do some scuba diving, huka, or skin diving from the kayak.
In the last two years, I have only had a chance to use it once, so I am putting it up for sale and hoping someone will enjoy it as much as I did.
I am including some gear with the kayak. The most useful (and expensive! $325 new!) piece of gear is the paddle. It is a all carbon fiber paddle by Seven2. The second item (and probably the second most expensive piece of gear) is the dolly or wheel set. I am also including a small mushroom style anchor, two fishing rods (this kayak has one "rocket laucher" rod holder), a fish gaff , some positive flotation, and bilge pump.
I am attaching some pictures to this add, but you can find more pictures on my flickr site: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rjngriswold/sets/72157623984950970/
