Kumho KL78.

Is anyone using the new version of the Kumho KL78? Do you like them? Would you recommend them? I like my Nitto Terra Grapplers, but was wanting something just a bit more aggressive. Also thought about the Maxxis Big Horn. Any comments would be appreciated.

i don't know how much this will help, but i just put on the kl-71. its a bit more aggressive than the kl-78.
the tires run very smooth and quiet. as smooth as bfg at, and quieter. i have only had them a week, so i cant speak of longevity.
they only off-roading i have tried has been at the beach. they seemed to do fine. my truck is an 04 4 door f350. its heavy and dose not really like soft sand.
mine are 315-75-16.

I ran the KL78s (255-70-16s on a Liberty for about 21,000 miles. They were very quiet on the road, did well on snow, and even went trail riding down in Daniel Boone National Park through mud , creeks etc and stayed up with everyone else without a problem. I sold them with over half the tread left to go to a bigger size and BFG ATs which are way louder and do not do any better than the Kumhos did . For the price they do a great job I think

how would you rate the tread life of the Kumho's compared to teh BFG AT's? My BFG AT's lasted about 60k miles so I'd like to get something similar. However, the $170+/tire of the AT's is forcing me into looking for cheaper alternatives.

I have them and put them through just about everything and they are great. I'm about 1/2 gone at 30k, but I run them with 50psi in my Xterra.... helps with the gas mileage, but they are definately overinflated and showing it. Oh well, when they are gone, I'm getting 33x9.50 BFG A/Ts.:sombrero:
