Land cruiser starts, stalls in 2 seconds

I pulled my car into the garage to try to take off the running boards. A few minutes went by and I realized I wasn't able to reach two of the bolts, and it went to pull my car out of the garage and it will start, and then stall a few seconds later. I rolled it out in neutral but now my garage smells strongly of gas. Any suggestion for what could cause it? Has a full tank of gas. I was hoping to head out on a trip Thursday but might have to cancel plans. It's a 1999 land cruiser, 2uz-fe auto

I haven't, only owned it for a few months. I'm hoping I can limp it over to the Toyota dealer and have them check it out. Big disappointment right before a trip, but better then in the middle of the woods I guess

Do you have more than one key? Sounds like it could be related to the immobilizer. Does it sputter to a stop or just shut right off? Any MIL light on the dash afterwards?

I have 2 keys, don't have both with me but I can go get the other one to try. It just seems to stop, but if I give it gas it will stay on for another few seconds then stall. No lights that I can see on the dash, I'll look again though. Thanks for the reply and tips

Managed to get it to the dealer, $365 just to diagnose it as well as to diagnose the ac system. Really need to learn how to work on the car better, I was scared to even ask how much they would charge to take off the running boards

Yeah, I've gotten all the bolts except for the ones on the top of the front and rear mounts. The body seems to block me being able to get a wrench in, any help is appreciated with tips or pictures of what to do, thanks!

I believe it was from some sketchy gas in east Quincy. The fuel filter had been replaced 40,000 miles ago, and the only way I was able to get the cruiser over to the shop was by hitting the fuel filter with a wrench to free it up
